Offset the cost of professional development for math and science educators
The Math and Science Partnership (MSP) is part of Title II, Part B of the No Child Left Behind Act. MSP goals are to increase teachers' content knowledge of math and science and improve students' learning of these subjects. States receive funding determined by student enrollment and poverty levels. It is then up to each state to hold grant competitions that result in allocation of the funding.
For more information, and for a list of State Coordinators, visit the U.S. Department of Education website at www.ed.gov/programs/mathsci/resources.html.
MSP funding can help schools and districts offset the cost of professional development for math and science educators. The College Board offers a variety of programs and services that may fit within your MSP plan. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Pre-AP® Instructional Leadership Strategies workshops
- AP Vertical Teams® workshops
- AP® Summer Institutes
- SpringBoard® math
