Help Support AP Students

Advanced Placement (AP) is a game changer for millions of students. It provides a college-level experience, prepares students for success in postsecondary education, and gives them the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school.

Since 1998, the federal government has provided funding for low-income students to access AP Exams. As a result, AP participation by low-income students has grown by 900 percent and now more than 500,000 AP students benefit from this support. Many states also provide funding for their low-income students to access AP Exams.

Join our advocacy efforts on behalf of these students by writing letters, emails, and social media messages to your elected officials to urge support for AP students.

The College Board is a mission-driven, not-for-profit organization that connects students to college success and opportunity. Each year, the College Board helps more than seven million students prepare for a successful transition to college through programs and services in college readiness and college success — including the SAT and the Advanced Placement (AP) Program.

Please join the AP Supporter Network to advocate on behalf of AP students and to receive monthly updates on education advocacy news.
